Evs Volunteer Wrote About Her Experience İn Mantova For Youth Caravan

This is Pinar Arikan. Having finished my 10-month-long Action2 EVS project in Mantova, Italy on social exclusion and migration, i can easily say this was the best thing that has ever happened to me! Though that certainly doesn't mean, i reccommend this service to anybody, since it has been such a personal experience. All the feelings, the actions, the choices were so individual, so intense...

I can start by saying the key point to this whole adventure is finding the right project colliding with your past experiences and with your expectations. Starting by choosing a particular location or a culture would be a bad move, since almost in any part of the world, one needs to start reconstructing his new life more or less with the same dynamics. Even though having the time of your life in some particular occasions, when it gets really hard, in the end the only thing you can hold on to will be your project theme, digesting your very reasons of being an EVS volunteer and appreciating the inner satisfaction that your project has to offer.

If i have to give an example particularly about me, being part of a social inclusion project on immigrants has been a bless for me, since i'm one of those who happens to believe even if we offer these people some kind of social rights, as long as we stick with the same mentality, all we can offer is a box, a more comfortable one! I think this 'mentality change' should be the part that needs to be deeply discussed and explained to young people. Well that's the very thing that the youth projects offer you. The tools you might need to make this 'mentality change' possible. (Though I should thank my hosting organization for allowing me to take initiative and express my input in a fruitful way,which might not be the case in every project.)

During your service, you might need to face severe difficulties, that doesn't necessarily mean your project will be a failure. At the same time you'll undoubtedly encounter with numerous inspiring people, the brightest youngsters, the strangest yet very provocative perceptions of life, that will definitely make you question your inner-selves, enrich your present knowledge about life, about relationships, about borders, cultures everything.

If you think you are up for such a challenge of constructing another reality in a place other than your own, reaching out to the less fortunate, the opportunity is right there! Just make the most of it!

Avendo finito il mio progetto di SVE durante di 10 mesi in Mantova, Italia sul esclusione sociale e la migrazione, quello che posso dire sarebbe, questo servizio davvero è stato certamento il meglio. Ma questo non vuol dire che posso raccomandare SVE a chiunque, sicomme questa esperienza è stata molto individuale. Tutti i sentimenti, gli azioni, tutte le schelte sono stati così personale, così intensi…

Posso cominciare dire il punto chiave alla questa avventura sarebbe trovare il progetto che è più compatibile con le esperienze e le aspettative tuoi. Aver schelto uno posto specifico, oppure una cultura particolare sarebbe una mossa sbagliata, siccome quasi in ogni parte del mondo uno deve iniziare a ricostruire la sua vità più o meno con i stessi dinamici. Anche se si puo avere il migliore momenti nella qualche occazioni specifici, quando le cose iniziano diventare difficile, alla fine l'unica cosa che puo salvarti sarebbe il tuo tema del progetto, aver compendiato i ragioni tuoi per diventare alla SVE ed apprezzandolo la soddisfazione interna dal tuo progetto.
Per me aver avuto la possibilità di lavorare con gli immigranti è stata una fortuna entrambe personale e professionale, siccome io sono uno di quello chi crede anche se quando offriamo qualche diritti umani o sociali alle queste persone, finchè attenarsi alla stessa mentalità, l'unica cosa possiamo offrire sarebbe una scatola, una un pò più comoda. Credo che questo cambiamento della mentalità ha bisogno di essere esaminato ed spiegato ai giovani. Bene il servizio di SVE ci offra proprio questo. I strumenti che abbiamo bisogno per realizzare questo cambiamento della mentalità. ( Nel mio caso devo ringraziare tuttavia alla mia organizzazione ospitante per avermi dato la possibilità di prendere l'iniziativa e di lavorare efficientemente.)

Durante il tuo servizio potete affrontare qualche difficoltà non necessariamente significa che i vostro progetti saranno i fallimenti. Alla stessa durante senza dubbio incontrerete tante persone ispiratrici, i più intelligente giovani, i più strani ma ancora i più provocatorio stili di vità. Tutti questi certamente farvi dubitare dele vostre percezione sulla vità, sui rapporti personali, sulla cultura, sulle frontiere cosi via.

Se siete pronti un'avventura tipo di questo, costruire le vostra vità nel un'altra realtà ed auitare le persone in difficoltà, l'opportunità è proprio lì. Vai sfruttare!
